Understanding Parathyroid Tumors

The parathyroid glands are four small glands located behind the thyroid gland in the neck, responsible for regulating the body’s calcium levels. A parathyroid tumor is an abnormal growth within one or more of these glands, which can lead to overproduction of parathyroid hormone (PTH), a condition known as primary hyperparathyroidism.
