Thyroid Cancer

Early Diagnosis. Expert Surgery. Lifelong Support.

Thyroid cancer is a condition where abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the thyroid gland. Most thyroid cancers are highly treatable, especially when diagnosed early. At our center, we provide comprehensive evaluation, advanced surgical care, and long-term follow-up for all types of thyroid cancer.

Types of Thyroid Cancer We Treat

Papillary Carcinoma

The most common and slow-growing type, usually with excellent prognosis.

Follicular Carcinoma

Slightly more aggressive than papillary, often spreads to lungs or bones.

Medullary Thyroid Cancer

Originates from C-cells and may be hereditary (linked with MEN syndromes).

Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer

A rare and aggressive type that grows rapidly; requires urgent treatment.

 Treatment Options

Treatment depends on the cancer type, stage, and overall health of the patient. Our center specializes in:

Surgery (Primary Treatment)

  • Total Thyroidectomy – complete removal of the thyroid gland
  • Hemithyroidectomy – removal of one lobe (for small or low-risk tumors)
  • Central/Lateral Neck Dissection – removal of involved lymph nodes
  • Scar-minimizing and nerve-monitoring techniques used for safety

Radioactive Iodine Therapy (RAI)

Destroys remaining cancer cells after surgery, especially in papillary and follicular cancers.

Hormone Therapy

Lifetime levothyroxine to replace thyroid hormone and suppress recurrence.

External Beam Radiation or Chemotherapy

Used only in advanced or aggressive cases (e.g., anapaestic cancer).
